Owner and operator, Nathan Ingram was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, and has always had a passion for cooking over an open fire. But it took a global pandemic and extended lockdown which got him experimenting with pizza on his Big Green Egg. He started with a pizza kit, then upgraded to making his own dough using commercial yeast, to then taking it one step further with a sourdough starter. It took a lot of trial and error. But for someone who was doing this for fun, the pizzas were shockingly exceptional. His friends and neighbors could not get enough. This continued for several months and when most quarantine bread makers were killing their starters and giving up on the sourdough craze, Nathan began to double down. He quit his corporate IT job and began exploring all options to commercialize this incredible product. Now, two years later this COVID-19 passion project has become so much more than just that. Sour Street Pizza was a dream turned into a reality. And we could not be more proud to be serving our hometown of Hampton Roads.
